BIT, Durg was incorporated in the year 1986 under the aegis of Bhilai Institute of Technology Trust. The institute is approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai. The institute is accredited by National Board of Accreditation.
