Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT) is located at the north-west corner of the Muzaffarpur city along Muzaffarpur- Motihari road in Bihar.

History

Established in 1954, MIT, Muzaffarpur is one of the oldest technical institutes in India. MIT is a premier institution of eastern India for technical education. The foundation stone of the main building was laid by the first prime minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1956. The institute is under administrative control of department of science and technology & wholly funded by Govt. of Bihar and affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowlege University, Patna.
